Instructions
for
Stretch & Company's
"Turkey"
By Stretch The Balloon
Dude
Labor: About 2 Minutes
|
| This
is a cute and fairly quick little turkey that is intermediate
in level and will take about 2 – 3 minutes to make.
It can also make a great table decoration and if you modify
the dimensions to use larger balloons such as 360s it
makes an adorable delivery piece. |

| Instructions: |
|
|
| 1.
You will nee a dark brown 260, a light brown 260, an orange
260, a yellow 160 and a white 160. All of the 260s and
the yellow 160 are inflated leaving about a 4 inch tail.
Inflate about 5 – 6 inches of the white 160. |
2.
Start with the yellow 160 by making two 3-inch bubbles
and then bringing the nozzle around to the end of the
second bubble and locking them together. Squeeze the middle
of the two bubbles together to form them into two fold
twists. |
|
|
| 3.
Twist off about a 2-inch bubble followed by a slightly
longer bubble and then bring the end of the second bubble
around and twist it into the middle of the two fold twists
to form your beak. Pop off the remainder of the yellow
160, keeping it inflated because you will use it later
for your feet. Tie off the excess yellow and set it aside. |
4.
Tie the nozzle end of the dark brown 260 to the nozzle
end of the white 160 and then twist the point where they
are connected into the middle of the two fold twists on
your turkey’s beak. Hold the white and dark brown
balloons together and twist them together forming a 2-inch
bubble in each balloon to form one eye and half of the
head. Twist a 2-inch bubble in each of the balloons and
bring then bring the end of each bubble down and twist
in into the middle of the two fold twists to complete
your second eye and head. Pop off and discard the excess
white 106, but keep the remaining dark brown 260 intact. |
|
|
| 5.
Twist a 1-inch bubble in the dark brown followed by a
small round bubble. Twist the small round bubble into
a pinch twist. |
6.
Twist a 3 to 4-inch bubble in the dark brown followed
by another small round bubble and then twist the small
round bubble into a pinch twist. |
|
|
| 7.
Make another longer bubble the same size and the first
one and then twist the end of that into the first pinch
twist in the dark brown balloon. |
8.
Make a bubble just a little longer than half the length
of the longer bubbles in the dark brown balloon followed
by a small round bubble that you will make into a pinch
twist. Make a second bubble the same length as the shorter
bubble and then twist the end of this bubble into the
pinch twist at the back of the turkey’s body. Twist
about a 3 to 4-inch bubble in the remaining balloon followed
by a small round bubble. Make the small bubble into a
pinch twist and then split this pinch twist into 2 bubbles.
Pop off and discard the remainder of the dark brown balloon. |
|
|
| 9.
Take your light brown 260 and start by making a small
round bubble in the nozzle end of it. Make the small round
balloon into a pinch twist and then split the pinch twist
into two smaller bubbles. Make a bubble the same size
as the dark brown balloon that you finished step 8 with
and then twist this bubble into the pinch twist on the
tail of your turkey. Lay the bubble along side the body
of your turkey and twist it into the pinch twist at the
front of your turkey where it meets it. |
10.
Turn the turkey over and repeat the last part of step
9 by laying the light brown 260 along the turkey’s
body until it reaches the tail and then twisting it into
the pinch twist at the tail of the turkey. Make another
bubble the same size as the other 2 balloons that make
up the turkey’s tail and then make a small round
bubble and twist it into a pinch twist. Split this pinch
twist into two bubbles and then pop off and discard any
remaining light brown balloon. |
|
|
| 11.
Twist the nozzle of the orange 260 into the pinch twist
at the center of your turkey’s tail and then make
a bubble the same size as the other bubbles in its tail.
Twist a small round bubble in the orange balloon and then
make it into a pinch twist. |
12.
Twist a bubble that is 2 to 3 inches long in the orange
balloon and then twist that into the first light brown
balloon that is sticking out of the turkey’s tail.
Make another bubble the same size and then twist it into
the dark brown balloon followed by another bubble the
same size that will connect with the last light brown
balloon in the turkey’s tail. Make another bubble
the same size in the orange balloon followed by a small
round bubble that you will then make into a pinch twist.
Make one last bubble in the orange balloon the same size
as the first bubble you started with and twist the end
of this bubble back into the pinch twist at the center
of the turkey’s tail. Pop off and discard any remaining
orange balloon and your turkeys tail is now complete. |
|
|
| 13.
Take your yellow 160 and start by twisting a ¾
to 1-inch bubble followed by a small round bubble. Twist
the small round bubble into a pinch twist. Twist a 1-inch
bubble, a ½-inch bubble and a 1-inch bubble and
then twist the end of the second 1-inch bubble into the
pinch twist to complete your first foot. |
14.
Squeeze the remaining balloon to soften it and then twist
about a 4 to 5-inch bubble followed by a small round bubble
that you will twist into a pinch twist. Make your second
foot by twisting a 1-inch bubble, a ½-inch bubble
and a 1-inch bubble and then twisting the end of the second
1-inch bubble into the pinch twist. Twist a ¾ to
1-inch bubble, pop off and discard any remaining yellow
balloon and then tie the end of the last bubble you just
made to complete your second foot. Divide the long bubble
into two equal bubbles and twist it to form your two legs. |
|
|
| 15.
Twist the twist in the middle of the two legs into the
pinch twist in the dark brown balloon on the bottom of
your turkey. |
16.
Push the pinch twist up on top of the dark brown balloon
so that it is “inside” your turkey so that
the legs will stick down and not out to the sides of your
turkey. |
|
|
| 17.
Add artwork to the eyes and your turkey is complete. |
