Instructions
for
Stretch & Company's
"Snowman"
By Stretch The Balloon
Dude
Estimated Time To Complete
4 - 6 minutes
|
| This
is a fairly quick and really cute snowman that kids of
all ages will adore and it can also be used as a table
decoration. For restaurant or other applications where
you may be handing this to a child you can leave off the
base. As an extra option, you can leave off the base and
put a few ounces of water or some sand in the 11 Inch
Round before inflating it to make it stand on it's own.
|
|
| For This Sculpture You Will
Need: |
1 - Red 160
(This is the scarf, so you can use whatever color you
want the scarf to be.) |
1 - Gray 360
(This is the hat, so you can use whatever color you want
the hat to be.) |
| Glue Dots or Rubber Cement. |
|
1.
Inflate the Red 160 leaving about 4 inches un-inflated
and then twist off about a 7 inch bubble followed by a
small pinch twist. |
|
2.
Inflate the White 11 Inch Round to about 8 inches and
then twist off the top 1/3 of the balloon so that the
smaller portion is on top and the nozzle is on top of
this smaller bubble. |
|
3.
Hold this with one hand and take the Red 160 and wrap
it around the twisted portion of the 11 Inch Round so
that it just settles into the crease formed where the
Round has been twisted. Bring the long bubble around and
twist into into the pinch twist on the Red 160 securing
it into place. This makes the snowman's scarf and the
friction of the 160 holds the twist in the 11 Inch Round. |
|
4.
Twist off a bubble in the long end of the Red 160 the
same size and the first bubble and then remove any excess
and tie off the end so that your scarf has two ends that
are the same length. |
|
5.
Take the Gray 360 and inflate it to about 8 inches. After
you have tied it hold the balloon in one hand and place
your index finger on the knot. |
|
6.
Push your finger and the knot into the balloon just past
your second knuckle and then grab the knot from the outside
with your other hand forming a deep tulip twist. |
|
7.
Twist a bubble making sure to capture the knot on the
opposite side of the tulip twist. |
|
8.
Twist about a 1 inch bubble making sure that the knot
is inside and then make this bubble into a pinch twist.
Twist another 1 inch bubble after this pinch twist and
make it a pinch twist so that you have two pinch twists
at the base of the tulip twist. |
|
9.
Pop off the excess balloon, secure the end by wrapping
it around the pinch twists several times and then trip
off any excess un-inflated balloon. You now have a hat
for your snowman. |
|
10.
Attach the hat to the snowman by twisting the nozzle of
the 11 Inch Round around the two pinch twists on the hat. |
|
11.
Take the White 260, inflate it leaving about 4 inches
un-inflated and and then make two pinch twists at the
nozzle end. |
|
12.
Twist about a 14 inch bubble and then bring that twist
around and twist in into the two pinch twists at the other
end of the balloon forming a circle. Pop off any excess
balloon and secure the end by twisting it into the two
pinch twists. Trim off any excess un-inflated balloon. |
|
13. Use
rubber cement or a couple of glue dots to secure your
snowman to this base so he will stand up and then add
artwork.
