Instructions
for
Stretch & Company's
"Spring Duck"
By Stretch The Balloon
Dude
|
This a really
cute duck that is perfect for Easter or Spring. It is
cute, fast and big enough to be impressive, but still
small enough for restaurants, parties or even a table
decoration. I used a yellow Link-O-Loon for the directions,
but for an added splash of fun you can stuff any 11 inch
spray or print balloon into a Clear 12" Link-O-Loon
to give that extra WOW factor.
|
|
|
| 1.
You will need a 12" Link-O-Loon, 2 Orange 360s, 1
Yellow 260, 1 Yellow 160 and 1 White 260. Inflate one
of the Orange 360s leaving just enough tail to tie it
into a circle and inflate the other one leaving about
2 inches un-inflated. Inflate the Yellow 260 leaving about
2 inches un-inflated and inflate about 6 or 7 inches of
the White 260. Inflate the Yellow 160 leaving about 1
inch on the end un-inflated . |
2.
Start with the Orange 360 that has the 2 inch tail and
make fold twist that is about the width of your hand.
Make a second fold twist the same size as the first and
then bring the tail of the balloon around and twist it
into the middle of the two fold twists forming a large
loop. Find the middle of the loop and divide it into two
equal bubbles.
|
|
|
| 3.
Bring the twist at the middle of the large loop down to
the middle of the two fold twists and twist it into them
forming two smaller loops that are the duck's bill. |
4.
Tie the ends of the White 260 and the Yellow 260 together
at the knots and then twist this point into the middle
of the two fold twists on the duck's bill. Bring the Yellow
and White 260s together and twist them together about
2 inches above the bill forming one eye and half of the
duck's head. |
|
|
| 5.
Make another eye and the second half of the duck's head
by twisting the remaining portion of the Yellow and White
balloons together about 2 inches above the first pair
of bubbles you just made. Bring the end of the second
pair of bubbles down and twist them into the duck's bill
where you first attached the Yellow and White 260s. |
6.
Pop off the excess White 260, discard it and then secure
the loose end. Remove the excess Yellow 260 making sure
to keep it inflated because you will need it for the duck's
tail. Tie the end of the part you removed and then secure
the loose end of the part on the duck's head. |
|
|
| 7.
Attach your duck's head by twisting either the knot or
the tail of the Link-O-Loon into the middle of the two
fold twists on the bill. |
8.
Take the second Orange 360, tie it into a loop and then
divide it into two equal bubbles. Bring the twist at middle
of the two bubbles down to the opposite joint in the balloon
and twist them together forming two smaller loops. This
will be your duck's feet. |
|
|
| 9.
Take the piece of Yellow 260 left over from step 6 and
twist a small round bubble on the knot end of it and then
make this bubble into a pinch twist. Bring the tail of
the balloon around and twist it into the base of the pinch
twist forming a large loop. Grab your duck's feet and
twist the pinch twist on the Yellow 260 into the middle
of the feet. The yellow 260 is your duck's tail. |
10.
Attach the feet and tail to the opposite end of your Link-O-Loon
from the duck's head. |
|
|
| 11.
Take your Yellow 160 and tie the ends together forming
a large loop. Find the middle of the loop and twist it
into two equal bubbles. Bring the middle of these two
bubbles down to meet the joint at the other end and twist
them together forming two smaller loops for the duck's
wings. |
12.
Add the wings by twisting the middle of the two bubbles
in the Yellow 160 onto the duck's body at the base of
the its head. You can give the wings a little more character
by adding a twist to each wing forming one bubble that
is longer than the other as shown in photo 12. |
|
|
| 13.
Add artwork and your duck is complete. |
