Instructions for the

"Love Is In The Air"
By Alberto Falcone, CBA & QAI

Labor: About 20 Minutes
Helium: About 8 cu. ft.

Materials:

4-16" Red Latex Balloons 43897
1-16" Ruby Red GEO Blossom® 39758
4-11" Red Latex Balloons 43790
4 6" Red Latex Hearts 43645
260Q Red Latex Balloons 79699
5" White Latex Balloons 43607
#40 White Qualatex MasterBow® Tulle Ribbon 37433
16" Balloon Straws Clear 64462
Monofilament (Fishing) Line
Cool Glue or Glue Dots®
Adhesive Tabs

.
Instructions:

1. Helium inflate and size two 16" balloons, then tie the necks together. Repeat to make a second pair, then twist the two pairs together to make a 4-balloon cluster.

2. Repeat Step 1 using four 11" balloons.

3. Wrap the two clusters together similar to making a Topiary, nesting the 11" balloons below the 16". This will create the top of your design.

4. To make the “flower” in the center, underinflate one 5" latex balloon to 3". Air inflate another 5" latex balloon to the same size, and tie the balloons together through the hole in the GEO®. Air inflate the GEO Blossom, and tie the knot. Tie one end of the tulle to the center of the helium-filled clusters, and tie the other end to the knot of the GEO Blossom.

5. Cover four balloon straws with uninflated Red 260Qs. Insert between the top and bottom of the helium-filled clusters. Glue to secure, if desired. Tie tulle to the end of each balloon straw.

6. Air inflate four 6" Red Hearts and tie. Attach Hearts to the ends of the tulle with adhesive tabs. Tie a bow made of White tulle to the top to hide the tabs. Trim excess from the balloon neck for a cleaner look.

Instructions:

1. Helium inflate the 3' balloon and tie to BalloonRibbon. Tie the BalloonRibbon to a sand weight through the center of an uninflated GEO Blossom.

2. Make two Curly 350Qs and tie the necks together. Tie one end of the 350Qs to the sand weight, and the other end to the neck of the 3' balloon.

3. Air inflate a third 350Q and tie the ends together. Twist the ends together to form a figure 8. Wrap the figure 8 onto the neck of the 3' balloon for “leaves.”

4. Repeat Step 3 to make leaves with a 160Q and wrap onto the intersecting knots of the Curly 350Qs.

5. Make a Topiary of 10 fully inflated 5" White and two 5" Ruby Red and wrap onto the intersecting knots of the Curly 350Qs, positioning the Ruby Red balloons at the outer centers.

NOTE: When making Topiaries, add balloons in pairs, making sure the balloons intersect at the knots so the center stays constant. Finally, air inflate the GEO Blossom balloon.

Instructions for the

"Spiral Heart Arch"
By Jan Iiams, CBA

This beautiful garland arch is ideal for entrance or backdrop décor and is air-filled so has a very long display life. With small changes in color and substituting other balloons for the hearts, it is adaptable to a wide variety of occasions and themes.

Materials and Equipment:
13 x 15cm (6”) Fashion Bubble Gum Pink latex hearts
124 x 12cm (5”) Fashion Bubble Gum Pink rounds
93 x 28cm (11”) Fashion White rounds
31 x 30cm (12”) Fashion White LINK-O-LOON®s
2 Base Plates and Poles 1.5m (5') tall
3m (10') length of thin metal rod
Conwin Precision Auto-Sizer

Step By Step:
1.Secure each pole to a base plate and slide the flexible metal rod into the tops of the poles, then tape the rod in place.
2. Air-fill two 28cm (11”) Fashion White rounds sized to 25cm (10") and tie the necks together to form a duplet.
3. Create a second duplet with one 28cm (11”) Fashion White round sized to 25cm (10") and a 30cm (12") Bubble Gum pink LINK-O-LOON® sized to 25cm (10”). Tie the necks together to form a duplet.
4. Wrap the necks of the duplets together to form a cluster.
5. Air-fill a 15cm (6”) Bubble Gum Pink latex heart and tie its neck to the tip of the 30cm (12”) LINK-O-LOON® in the cluster. Place the cluster at the base of one of the poles.
6. Repeat to create an identical cluster with a 15cm (6”) heart attached to the LINK-O-LOON®. Place this on the second pole with the Bubble Gum pink balloons facing the opposite direction. (See Photo)
7. Create a total of 31 clusters and place them on the poles, wrapping one over another to grip the pole and hold the cluster in place. Make sure as you assemble it you make the garland swirl in opposite directions on both poles, until they meet at the top of the arch frame.
8. Create 31 air-filled clusters with 12cm (5”) Bubble Gum pink sized to 8cm (3").
9. Lift the individual hearts tied to the tips of the LINK-O-LOON®s and wrap the small clusters around the knot where the hearts are tied in place.
10. Finish by standing back and adjusting the garland swirl to match on both sides then twist the hearts by hand to make them all face the same direction for a smoother line within the design.
Conclusion
This arch can be made wider or taller simply by creating a taller arch frame from the flexible metal rod and/or moving the base plates and poles farther apart. This arch is very adaptable with color and balloon changes. Add small foils or rounds to the tips of the 30cm (12”) LINK-O-LOON®s instead of hearts to create colorful balloon flowers. Let your imagination go!
