Instructions for the

“Festive Fireworks" Arch
By Cam Woody, CBA

Labor: About 45 Minutes

Materials:

4 - 18" “Patriotic Stars” Microfoil®   Stars (11821)
11" “Red & Blue Stars” Latex   Balloons (90844)
11" Red Latex Balloons (43790)
5" Dark Blue Latex Balloons   (43680)
260Q Red Latex Balloons (79699)
260Q White Latex Balloons   (43962)
260Q Dark Blue Latex Balloons   (43959)
2 - SDS™ Steel Base Plates   (30895)
2 - 4' Pieces of ½" Conduit
Aluminum Rod
Duct Tape
Clear Packaging Tape
Instructions:
1. Put the conduit onto the base plates.
2. Bend the aluminum rod to form an Arch. Secure it to the top of each piece of conduit with duct tape.
3. Make the following 4-balloon clusters, using two 11" Red and two 11" “Red & Blue Stars” balloons. Wrap two of each size in the order listed onto each pole, starting at the base.
    • Four clusters inflated to 9"
    • Four clusters inflated to 8"
    • Four clusters inflated to 7"
    • Four clusters inflated to 6 ½"
    • Four clusters inflated to 6"
Take care to rotate each cluster 45 degrees so it nests in the previous cluster. Push the center of each cluster firmly against the center of the previous one.

4. Make two 4-balloon clusters, using two 11" Red and two 11" “Red & Blue Stars” inflated to 5". Wrap one of each above of the 6" clusters on the poles.

5. Make 4-balloon clusters using 5" Dark Blue balloons inflated to 3 ½". Wrap them onto the aluminum rod, building from both sides into the center. Leave about a 12" space at the top of the Arch.
6. Create four Topiaries using Red, White, and Dark Blue 260Qs, leaving about 2" uninflated on each. Tie into pairs and then twist the pairs together, making sure the balloons intersect at the knots so the center stays constant.
7. Wrap each Topiary onto the top of the Arch between the Dark Blue clusters. Push them together tightly on the rod so they appear to be one large Topiary.
8. Air inflate four “Patriotic Stars” Microfoils and secure an uninflated 260Q to the back of each using a piece of clear packaging tape. Tie each Star into the center of a cluster around the bottom of the Arch.
Tips:
• Change the balloons and color scheme to re-create this festive Arch for   different occasions such as prom, graduation, or New Year’s Eve.

• Ensure the balloons are all the same size by using sizing tools such as   Qualatex ProSizer™ Templates or the Conwin Precision Air inflator.

• Balloon quantity may vary depending on the size of the Arch and how   tightly the balloon clusters are packed.

• Increase the lengths of the aluminum rod and conduit proportionately to   make a larger Arch.

Instructions for the

"Shooting Star Grad"
By Jan Iiams, CBA

INTRODUCTION:
Simple LINK-O-LOON® chain
columns fill space beautifully and
profitably. A series of columns topped with themed foils set the stage for a truly Grand Grad Party!

APPLICATIONS:
• Focal point columns.
• Backdrop components.
• A series of columns create a   pathway.

PRO TIP:
No frames needed to build these attractive columns so no need to return to pick up base plates and
poles!

Materials and Equipment:
7 x 30cm (12”) school color LINK-O-LOON®s
32 x 12cm (5”) school color rounds
1 Special shape foil
1 Heavy bouquet weight
Air and helium
Ultra HI-FLOAT optional
Conwin Precision Auto-Sizer

Step By Step:
1. Treat 30cm (12”) LINK-O-LOON®s with Ultra HI-FLOAT and fill with helium, tying tip to tail to create a chain. Tie the neck of the bottom LINK-O-LOON® to a heavy bouquet weight.
2. Air fill two 12 cm (5”) rounds and tie the necks together to form a duplet. Create a second identical duplet and twist the necks together to form a cluster of four.
3. Repeat creating a total of eight 12cm (5”) clusters. Place each one over the joined knots of the LINK-O-LOON®s and wrap one balloon over another
to secure the cluster collars in place.
4. Helium fill a special shape foil and tie the neck to the tip of the top LINK-O-LOON® and above the topmost 12cm (5”) cluster.
CONCLUSION
Tall or short these simple floating columns can be adjusted to the height of the room by adding more LINK-O-LOON®s and cluster collars. Whether flanking a doorway or filling space against plain walls, this décor design is a great way to add visual interest and create the perfect setting for graduation parties. This décor is adaptable to many themes and occasions with a simple change of color and foil patterns.
