.
Instructions:

1. Air inflate four 11" “Shamrocks, Confetti, & Dots” balloons to 9" and make a 4-balloon cluster. Attach the cluster to a weight.

2. Air inflate a 646Q, leaving 2" uninflated, and tie the knot end to the neck of the sand weight. Inflate the other 646Q, leaving 4" uninflated, and tie it to the uninflated end of the first 646Q.

3. Stuff the 16" latex inside the Deco Bubble. Slightly helium inflate the Deco Bubble. Inflate the stuffed latex balloon to 16". Add additional helium to the Deco Bubble until all wrinkles disappear from the seam of the balloon. Twist the necks of the Deco Bubble and latex and then tie with ribbon. Attach to the top 646Q.

4. Air inflate eight 6" Lime Green Hearts to make two 4-balloon clusters. Wrap one cluster between the 646Qs and the other underneath the Deco Bubble topper.

5. Inflate two Curly 160Qs and tie both ends together. Wrap one end of the pair to the base cluster and the other end to the center of the Column. Repeat for the top half of the Column.

6. Air inflate three Lime Green Hearts and tie the necks together. Attach to a Curly 160Q and glue to the Column.

7. Insert White Sparkle Collars near the neck of the topper, in the center cluster, and between the leaves of the shamrock.

Sand Weight

.
Instructions:

1. Tie the monofilament line to the sand weight.

2. To make the “feet,” air inflate two 11" Pearl White latex balloons to 6" and tie the necks together. Then, air inflate a 646Q, leaving 2" uninflated. Bend the balloon in half, and tie the ends together. Repeat using a second 646Q, and tie the two feet together. Twist the pair of 646Qs together with the 6" Pearl White balloons and wrap around the monofilament line, positioning the 6" balloons together behind the 646Qs.

3. To make the “body,” air inflate five same-colored “Polka Dot” balloons to 7" and tie into a 5-balloon cluster.

4. Make three more 5-balloon clusters using the same-colored “Polka Dot” balloons in each. Inflate each cluster to the following sizes and wrap onto the monofilament line in this order:
• 11" “Polka Dot” inflated to 9"
• 11" “Polka Dot” inflated to 8½"
• 11" “Polka Dot” inflated to 8"
• 5" Pearl White inflated to 4"

5. Helium inflate the 34" “Colorful Easter Bunny” and tie the neck to a piece of BalloonRibbon. Nest the 34" Shape into the top cluster and tie the ribbon into the top two clusters.

6. To create “arms,” air inflate a 646Q to 9". Tie off the uninflated remainder of the balloon and trim the excess.

7. Repeat Step 6. Using an uninflated 260Q, tie the necks of the two 646Qs together. Wrap the pair of balloons into the body of the bunny, near the
8 ½" cluster.
Tips:
• Use other 11" latex balloons, like the “Big Polka Dot” balloons or Rainbow SuperAgate Assortment to give your bunny bolder colors and patterns.

• Add bouquets with 19" “Happy Spring Easter Egg” Microfoil Shape and 11" “Happy Spring Easter Dots” latex balloons to match your bunny and coordinate your decor.

Instructions for the

"Mardi Gras Mask"
By Jan Iiams, CBA

The Mardi Gras Mask is identifiable all over the world as the icon which best symbolizes 'Party Time'. Usually constructed on a board with the balloons glued into position or on a frame with the balloons wrapped to form a Garland the finished sculpture was virtually unchangeable.
The LINK-O-LOON® Mardi Gras Mask requires no backing board or frame and with all balloons air- inflated to either one of the two sizes. The entire construction is relatively simple.

Materials and Equipment:
20 - Crystal Violet, 30cm (12") LINK-O-LOON®s air-inflated to 23cm (9")
16 - Metallic Gold, 30cm (12") LINK-O-LOON®s air-inflated to 23cm (9”)
65 - Crystal Violet, 15cm (6") LINK-O-LOON®s air-inflated to 10cm (4")
76 - Metallic Gold, 15cm (6") LINK-O-LOON®s air-inflated to 10cm (4")
Sizing equipment
Air Inflator
6lb Fishing line
Step By Step:
Preparing the Mask Frame
1. Inflate a single 30cm (12”) crystal violet, LINK-O-LOON® to 23cm (9") and secure with a knot.
2. Inflate a second LINK-O-LOON® and tie it off to the tail of the first.
3. Repeat step 2 18 more times to make a chain of 20 LINK-O-LOON®s.
4. Join the two ends together to form a ring as shown in Diagram 1.
5. Create two rings or a figure eight by wrapping four LINK-O-LOON®s together to form a cluster at the mid-way point as shown in Diagram 1a.
6. Inflate 2 x 15cm (6”) crystal violet balloons [sized to 10cm wide] and join together at the neck to form a duplet.
7. Repeat the process in step 6 until you have 32 duplets.
8. Wrap two duplets together [at the knot] to form 16 clusters of four.
9. Inflate the single remaining crystal violet 15cm (6") round balloon to 10cm (4") and tie off.
10. Repeat steps 6-8 with the 15cm (6") metallic gold round balloons until you have 19 clusters of four.
Attaching the Collars
11. Take the single 15cm (6") crystal violet balloon and tie it into a cluster of 4 x metallic gold 15cm (6") balloons to form a cluster of five.
12. Tie the cluster into the joining point of the two rings as shown in Diagram 2.
13. Wrap a cluster of 4 metallic gold balloons to the 4th joining point on the chain. Push all 4 x 15cm (6") balloons to one side to form a corner collar.
14. Wrap 8 of the clusters of crystal violet 15cm (6") balloons to the remaining joining points on the ring.
15. Repeat steps 13-14 on the opposite ring as shown in Diagram 3.
Making the Colored Inserts
16. Inflate eight 30cm (12”) metallic gold LINK-O-LOON®s as described in steps 1-4 to form a ring of eight.
17. Wrap three clusters to the ring at the 1st, 2nd and 5th joining points on the ring to form corner collars as shown in Diagram 4.
18. Wrap five more clusters to the joining points on the ring.
19. Repeat Steps 16-18 to form a second ring as shown in Diagram 4a.
Making the Mask
20. Position the metallic gold ring on top of the crystal violet mask frame allowing the single corner collar to snugly nestle into a position at the joining point of the two rings as shown in Diagram 5 & Diagram 5a.
21. Using a fine line (eg: 6 lb Fishing line) secure the end to the cluster of 5 balloons positioned at the joining point of the two crystal violet rings.
22. Keeping a firm (but not too tight) tension on the line zigzag from the clusters of 4 metallic gold balloons to the clusters of 4 crystal violet balloons as shown with the RED LINE in Diagram 5b. Remember to tuck the
line under the ring of metallic gold balloons to hide the mechanics.
23. Repeat steps 21-23 for the other ring and complete mask as shown in Diagram 5c.
It is important to remember not to add too much tension to the secure line or the two sides of the mask will distort. The use of the line allows for minor adjustment to the final shape after the sculpture in constructed.
It is also possible to position the color insert onto the frame with an adhesive that works well with latex balloons: glue dots, low temperature glue gun, or carefully placed rubber cement. The use of adhesives will not
allow for much variation in shape after construction.
Colors
With a different color combination for the frame, the collars and the color insert, a completely different style mask can be made. It is also possible to create a two-sided mask by adding the color insets for the second side.
CONCLUSION
The LINK-O-LOON® Mardi Gras Mask can be varied to suit any theme. With only a few minor adjustments it can represent a number of different style spectacles or goggles.
